AP Test info

Frame the SFI I gave you on the whiteboard around this question.

FRQ: Analyze the ways in which British imperial policies between 1763 and 1776 intensified colonials’ resistance to British rule and their commitment to republican values.

Please do not simply name/event drop. You will need to provide details that indicate your full understanding of the information you use to answer this question. I do not expect you to use all of the SFI, but it is essential that you use enough to support your thesis and demonstrate a knowledge of the period.

Other things to study:
This test will cover all material discussed in the framework of the French and Indian War through the American Revolution. McCullough’s 1776 should be used as a guide for your writing about soldiers life, the home front, colonial strategy, battles, etc…

The two PowerPoints found here and here should be reviewed.

In this post I stated:

Your test will be on the following:

1. the PowerPoint & notes we are working with (French and Indian War and Road to Revolution)
2. the graphics you were given
3. social issues covered in 1776 (life of the soldier, why Washington considered them “the raw materials” and citizens) and other points that we specifically address in class

You can expect short answer questions on broad concepts such as the differences in organization/expectation between Colonials and Great Britain, comparisons between Patrick Henry and John Dickinson, soldiers and the home front, and a battle that stands out to you.

There will also be about 20 multiple choice questions.

AP: Revolution info

First, remember how I cover war. The only instruction you will have on the actual battles will come from 1776. I will mention a few major battles (beginning, turning point, end) but that is all.

It is always wise to read the chapter. However, you guys have been reading your eyes out and I understand that. Scan the chapter, use lecture point, review the chapter outlines that I will post.

I am very impressed with how hard all of you are working. Have a great weekend and pass this message on to your non-FB friends.
